Helping increase attendance at Kaputu School, Malawi, by supplying the girls with sanitary pads which are locally-made, reusable, and last about 2 years.
Malawian Youth Venture in Business
Kayso soap is ‘selling like hot cake’! We raised £1,820 to set up the factory, which is run by young people under the supervision of Lilongwe Youth Organisation and with the blessing of the local community.
Tools for Self Reliance
A total of £3,120 was raised to provide 76 kits of pre-loved and refurbished carpentry tools, which were distributed to five youth organisations around Malawi. Ranging in size from ‘solo’ to ‘large training centre’, the kits are helping young people get training and start-up in business. Included within the sum above was £1,100 for transportation.
193 Street Children Go to School
We gave £3,828 to top up funds raised by our partner, FISCH, enabling 193 street children in Iringa, Tanzania, to take up their school places. The money was used to provide the uniform and stationery that is required. The uniform was made by street children in their sewing club.
Education after Hope Faded
This girl had missed her chance years ago to attend government school, and so FISCH has been supporting her to attend a private school (her only option). She has done well to progress each year, and is now entering her final year
